Job Description

Support the Smarter Travel Manager in promoting public transport and active travel across Ireland, working with workplaces, colleges, and schools to develop and implement sustainable travel plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with Smarter Travel Programme partners to support the development and implementation of active and sustainable travel plans.
  • Act as primary contact for Smarter Travel Programme partners, providing guidance and support on sustainable mobility plans.
  • Administer, analyse, and report on Smarter Travel programme surveys to inform programme development.
  • Coordinate the delivery of the Smarter Travel Mark, assessing eligibility criteria and awarding successful organisations.
  • Represent the NTA at Smarter Travel Mark plaque presentations and promote the programme to potential partners.
  • Forecast, manage, and analyse programme performance metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinate behavioural change initiatives, including active travel interventions and events.
  • Deliver lectures and briefings to students and academics, promoting active and sustainable travel initiatives.
  • Maintain and develop the Smarter Travel Student Awards judging panel to ensure diverse industry representation.
  • Manage budgets and coordinate the development of marketing, communications, and promotional materials.
  • Update and write copy for the website and TFI Smarter Travel website.
  • Analyse data, present comprehensive results, and report on KPIs and achievements.
  • Manage customer queries through the NTA Customer Relationship Management system.

Requirements

  • Hold a minimum of a NFQ Level 7 qualification in a relevant discipline, such as business, behavioural change, or transportation.
  • Have at least five years of recent relevant experience in business or behavioural change roles, with two years of experience managing projects or people.
  • Have at least one year of experience in public transport roles related to promoting public transport, active, or sustainable transport modes.
  • Have strong experience in managing and building stakeholder relationships.
  • Have strong experience in analysing, reporting, and presenting data.

Desirable Skills

  • Strong experience of writing copy for websites and/or other publications.
  • Experience managing multiple projects.
  • Experience marketing sustainable and active travel initiatives.
