Job Description

Nua Healthcare Services is a leading provider of private healthcare services in Ireland, specialising in residential, mental health, and supported living services for individuals with complex needs.

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Social Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be afforded all necessary training and development in line with the role.

Job Objectives

The role will suit experienced candidates who wish to progress in their careers in a progressive organisation and are deemed suitably qualified, skilled within a similar healthcare setting.

  • To be familiar with and to adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • To use company IT systems as instructed and to never share your passwords with another or do anything likely to result in the unutilised disclosure of personal data as defined under the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
  • Help people who have mental health conditions live more successful lives.
  • Work as part of a specialist multidisciplinary team to provide a holistic approach to assist each patient.
  • To understand the unique challenges of those with whom they work and help them as necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with team members carrying out Initial Assessments, Individual Sessions and Group Sessions.
  • Analyse their living conditions and look out for causes for concern or areas for improvement.
  • Compile their findings and analysis into reports for the use of others on the team.
  • Help patients make sense of their situations, better understand themselves, constructively challenge them to think and help them set achievable goals to improve their lives.
  • Work within legal frameworks for example the Mental Health Act (2001) and undertake continuing professional development as appropriate.

Skills Requirement

Qualification:

  • Level 7/8 bachelor's degree in social work.

Experience:

  • 3 years minimum experience within a similar social care setting.

Skills:

  • Effective verbal and written communication and IT skills.
  • Good aptitude for learning.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Good planning and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work to deadlines under pressure.
  • Ability to empathise with and understand the needs of others.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Reliability and flexibility.
  • Self-motivated/self-starter team player.
