As an Engineer on the team you will design and implement services and intelligent operational tooling to allow Amazon Aurora to scale faster, with emphasis on reliability, deployment velocity and operational effectiveness.We are looking for Software Development Engineers who have built a lot of software – shipped products and created platforms, tools, Ops Console and modules. You should be passionate about optimizing the software development experience at a very large scale, using your strong technical skills and motivation to achieve results. You are naturally enthusiastic about learning new technologies and industry trends and are excited by the idea of solving hard technical challenges.Come, join us in reinventing database systems for the cloud!About the teamAWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (IoT), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS.Minimum Requirements:Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering teamExperience leading the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systemsExperience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design8+ years of professional software development experienceExperience in any of the following: Cloud Architecture, Infrastructure Architecture, Data Engineering or DevOpsBachelor's degree in computer science or equivalentExperience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operationsExposure to large-scale distributed storage and database systems (e.g. SQL, NoSQL, Graph Databases)Delivered software in an environment that utilises Agile methodologies like SCRUM or KanbanHands-on experience with AWS services such as RDS, EC2, Dynamo DB, CloudWatchAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
