Senior Software Development Engineer

Aurora Control Plane is looking for a skilled Senior Software Development Engineer to join the team building hyper-scale database services in the cloud.

About the Job

Aurora is a distributed, fault-tolerant database service that performs up to five times faster than standard MySQL databases and three times faster than standard PostgreSQL databases.

  • Design and implement scalable services and intelligent operational tooling to allow Amazon Aurora to scale faster
  • Emphasize reliability, deployment velocity, and operational effectiveness
  • Collaborate with a team of experienced engineers to build innovative solutions
  • Contribute to the development of cloud architecture, infrastructure, and data engineering

About the Team

AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides innovative services and features, including Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2).

  • Support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (IoT), Platform, and Productivity Apps services
  • Collaborate with a team of experienced engineers to build innovative solutions
  • Contribute to the development of cloud architecture, infrastructure, and data engineering

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience
  • Experience leading architecture and design of new and current systems
  • Programming experience with modern languages such as Java, C++, or C#
  • Experience with cloud architecture, infrastructure, and data engineering
  • Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
