Develop scalable services and tools to support the rapid growth of Amazon Aurora. **About the Role** We are seeking a talented Software Development Engineer to design and implement services and intelligent operational tooling to allow Amazon Aurora to scale faster, with emphasis on reliability, deployment velocity and operational effectiveness. **Key Responsibilities** • Design and implement scalable services and tools to support the rapid growth of Amazon Aurora • Develop intelligent operational tooling to optimize software development experience at a very large scale • Collaborate with the team to build scalable services and tools to support the growth of Aurora **Requirements** • 8+ years of professional software development experience • Experience leading the architecture and design of new and current systems • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# • Experience with cloud architecture, infrastructure architecture, data engineering or DevOps **Preferred Qualifications** • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent • Experience with full software development life cycle • Exposure to large-scale distributed storage and database systems • Hands-on experience with AWS services such as RDS, EC2, Dynamo DB, Cloud Watch **About Amazon Aurora** Amazon Aurora is a distributed, fault-tolerant database service, leveraging a self-healing storage system which performs up to five times faster than standard MySQL databases and three times faster than standard PostgreSQL databases.
