As a Senior Software Engineer at Brightflag, you will play an integral part in the success of our engineering team and impact how our customers interact with our platform and the value they get from it. We are a scale-up with high-profile customers in the US, Europe, and Australia. Our engineers are ambitious and thrive on being given responsibility, expressing their creativity, and solving interesting problems to help us build something exceptional. You will take full features from design to deployment across the backend stack. We deploy each sprint output to production which means you will see your work go live very quickly.Brightflag is growing fast and transforming how the legal industry works. The designs and decisions you make daily will have a huge influence on how our 200+ customers’ legal departments work and how they deal with their external law firms.What You Will Be DoingHave direct input into the design and refining of the product solutions from the very start.Work within a highly collaborative environment of Frontend, Backend, and QA Engineers, along with our Product and Data Science teams to bring features to life.Work with our Agile development processes to ensure requirements are brought from ideation to delivery with clarity and best practice.Break down product requirements into technical designs.Step back to consider what's already in our product and how your design fits that. If there is a better fit, recommend a new approach.Contribute collaboratively to the codebase with high-quality code, test case coverage, and design. Review designs and pull requests of your teammates, and share improvements more widely through our developer forums.Use a Java tech stack focused on the Spring Framework with common open-source libraries to implement features and build REST APIs and integrations with other systems. Data is stored in MySQL, Elastic Stack, and AWS S3, and we utilize a number of AWS services such as SQS for our event architecture.
