IntroductionAre you a software engineer with a passion for building scalable micro-services that handle massive amounts of data and form the backbone of customer-facing managed services?We are a company that helps our enterprise customers plan, analyze, and optimize their IT spending across traditional and cloud infrastructure.We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with 5+ years of experience who is passionate about building large scale services optimized for performance, efficiency, and handling lots of data. You will be responsible for designing new services, revamping existing ones, and guiding the team’s overall system design and architecture. Some of the technologies you'll be using include AWS, GCP, Azure, and their hosted services like RDS, SQS, and Lambda; NoSQL/distributed such as DynamoDB and Redis; and established Java/Golang codebases.Your Role and ResponsibilitiesBuild cloud-native services that solve new and existing business challenges and customer needs.Build distributed systems in Java to process petabytes of data.Own end-to-end features from concept to design to production and partner with product managers and other engineers to deliver high-quality solutions that horizontally scale.Dive into complex architectures and research and identify new technologies to solve tough problems.Mentor and coach junior engineers.Required Technical and Professional ExpertiseExtensive professional knowledge, experience, and understanding of at least one modern programming language, such as Java, Scala, or Go.Professional experience in a SaaS company.5+ years of professional software development experience.3+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current systems.Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, a related field, or relevant work experience.Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, algorithm design, and problem solving.Preferred Technical and Professional ExpertiseExperienced with modern API design and implementations, preferably in Java.Experience with Linux-based integrated development environments, or equivalent (e.g., IntelliJ IDEA).About IBMIBM's greatest invention is the IBMer.
