Senior Software Engineer - OpenStack Cloud The Red Hat Cloud Engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer to join us. In this role, you will contribute to the development, testing, documentation, and customer support for our Red Hat OpenStack product current software releases. You will also contribute to one or more OpenStack projects with a focus on the delivery and improvement of our Red Hat releases for customers. You will join a team of software developers and work on a variety of innovative technologies and open source projects. As a Software Engineer, you will become part of a distributed team collaborating on open source software and communicating with other team members and community developers, as well as working on your own. What you will do Deliver software and support for Red Hat OpenStack Cloud offering Help deliver and improve our shipping Red Hat OpenStack releases Develop, maintain, and write software and automated tests for one or more OpenStack projects Contribute to the writing and review of customer documentation Engage and assist in the resolution of software issues both internally and from external customers Contribute to the quality and success of Red Hat’s offerings and the open source communities that serve as our foundation What you will bring Comfortable working with a distributed remote international team Good written and verbal communication skills in English Experience developing in Python programming is highly desirable Experience using Linux and debugging Linux environments is highly desirable Passion for solving problems, continuous improvement, teamwork, and open communication The following are considered a plus: Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience Familiarity with Red Hat Cloud Suite, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Red Hat Data Services, and related Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) technologies Experience with languages like Ansible, Java, or Ruby is a plus Experience with distributed systems and networking Experience with OpenStack and any of the following OpenStack projects: Nova, Neutron, TripleO, Heat, Keystone, Horizon, Cinder, Manila, and Glance Open source community experience About Red HatRed Hat is the world’s leading provider of enterprise open source software solutions, using a community-powered approach to deliver high-performing Linux, cloud, container, and Kubernetes technologies.
