Job Description
Lead a globally-distributed team of 8-10 software developers in developing and maintaining Percona Distribution for Mongo DB.
Percona Distribution for Mongo DB provides the best and most critical enterprise components to the open-source community, in a single distribution, designed and tested to work together.
Key responsibilities include:
- Hire and lead a globally-distributed, empowered team of software developers.
- Partner with the Product Management team to create a roadmap and deliverables.
- Drive software delivery through championing team velocity, predictability, and accountability.
- Develop people through coaching, mentoring, and management support.
- Contribute technically to support the team in reviewing and refining backlogs, code reviews, architectural reviews, etc.
- Work with engineering teams, product managers, and others across team boundaries to maintain high levels of transparency, efficiency, collaboration and set context with the team.
- Continually find ways to improve quality, processes, and efficiencies through technology and automation.
- Ownership of the team's results, building on the good, and taking corrective action on the opportunities.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience leading and managing development teams.
- A cross-team facilitator: collaborating with other teams and figuring out how to get things running more smoothly.
- High level of organization with a proven ability to prioritize, manage, budget, and deliver on time.
- Software Development experience is a must.
- Knowledge of one or more of the following programming languages: C/C++/Go.
- Experience with deploying and running My SQL and related components.
- Knowledgeable about open source software and development processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in project management with the ability to decompose complicated projects into simple tasks, estimates and manage risks.
- Self-directed with the ability to operate independently without needing everyday input.
- Maturity to build relationships and operate across the organization.
