Job Description

Seeking a senior qualified lawyer with a keen interest in learning and development to lead the firm's knowledge management team in Dublin.

Head of Knowledge is a key role within a mid-tier law firm in Dublin, responsible for driving the firm's knowledge management strategy and delivering high-quality training and development programs for fee earners and staff.

  • Liaise with partners to update and implement the firm's knowledge management plan, ensuring alignment with business objectives and best practices.
  • Organise and manage personal development training, including bespoke leadership development programs, to enhance the skills and knowledge of fee earners and staff.
  • Oversee the preparation and publication of content for the firm's on-demand CPD hub and knowledge hub, ensuring timely and relevant information is available to fee earners and staff.
  • Monitor and brief fee earners on new cases, forthcoming legislation, and legal developments across all practice areas, ensuring they are equipped to provide expert advice to clients.
  • Coordinate the preparation of monthly knowledge bulletins, summarizing key developments and best practices for fee earners and staff.
  • Supervise the knowledge management team, providing guidance and support to ensure the effective delivery of knowledge management services.
  • Prepare and edit articles for external and website publication, showcasing the firm's expertise and thought leadership in key areas of law.
  • Manage and update the firm's precedents, ensuring they are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate monthly departmental know-how meetings, facilitating knowledge sharing and collaboration among fee earners and staff.
  • Undertake legal research queries and analyse new/specialist areas of law, providing expert advice and guidance to fee earners and staff.
  • Manage the firm's knowledge resources and intranet, ensuring they are accessible, user-friendly, and provide relevant information to fee earners and staff.
  • Identify business development opportunities from existing knowledge, driving growth and revenue for the firm.
  • Liaise with department heads to identify training needs for fee earners and staff, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge required to deliver high-quality services.
  • Assist managers during appraisal time to identify personal development training needs, ensuring fee earners and staff are equipped to meet their career goals.
  • Prepare bespoke bulletins and legislation updates for clients, providing expert advice and guidance on key areas of law.
  • Handle other ad-hoc projects as required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Requirements:

  • Senior qualified lawyer with a keen interest in learning and development.
  • 5+ years of experience in a large corporate/firm environment or PSL.
  • Excellent technical and drafting skills.
  • Clear communicator with the ability to influence partners.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to form relationships and communicate at all levels.
  • Flexible team player with a positive and proactive attitude.
