Job Description

Job Summary: We have 2 vacancies for a Senior Solution Architect, aligned with the Bank Professional 2 grade and the BP2 salary scale, between €87,306 and €110,059. The Senior Solution Architect will be responsible for designing system solutions to meet the business requirements and align with IT strategy and architecture.



  • Provide relevant skills transfer, coaching and mentoring to team members to share expertise and ensure that the necessary skills, competencies and knowledge are being developed and leveraged across the team.

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the specific business areas you are aligned with and have an understanding of organisational inter-dependencies to ensure an enterprise view when designing business solutions.

  • Work on more complex and high-profile projects, liaise closely with Enterprise Architects to help develop enterprise solutions, quality assure Solution Architects, and continually look for ways to improve ways of working.

  • Develop solution designs and supporting technical design documentation in compliance with architectural strategies and principles.

  • Support the preparation of functional requirements, and lead the preparation and evaluation of IT requirements to ensure quality of same.

  • Supervise, mentor and coach Solution Architects and their outputs to ensure that they understand business requirements and provide appropriate solution options to meet same.

  • Maintain relationships with Enterprise Architecture, Business Analysis and IT Delivery in order to influence decisions made in respect of approaches to and scoping of projects and to influence architectural direction in respect of roadmaps.

  • Support the Solution Architecture Manager in embedding a culture of continuous improvement in the Solution Architecture team.

  • Keep up to date with developments and trends in the market place and keep informed about solution approaches that similar organisations are taking to ensure that you are well-informed to make recommendations in respect of business solution options and architectural strategy.


Requirements:


  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Design & Architecture, preferably with a background in Solution Delivery/Development.

  • Experience of design and systems architecture providing technical solutions to business problems.

  • Experience across technology layers (database, backend, integration, UX etc)

  • Self-starter with the ability to show initiative and work without supervision.

  • Ability to produce concise, accurate solution designs to meet business requirements.

  • Good presentation skills including experience presenting to senior stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of UML or architectural modelling tools and frameworks such as IASA & TOGAF

  • An interest in emerging technologies and their application.

  • Experience of agile software development practices.

  • Experience across some or all technologies in used in the Bank is preferred – MS Dynamics 365, Angular, SQL Server, .Net, MS Power BI, MS Azure, ERP Technologies and MS365.

  • Experience of the MS Azure Platform services, the design of cloud native business solutions, cloud hybrid solutions or the migration of solutions from on-premises to cloud would be beneficial.
