Job Description

Global Supply Planner role requires maximizing product availability while optimizing inventory for ARDx IDEM Business Unit, ensuring supply plan meets customer demand and aligns with financial strategy.

The Supply Chain Organisation is responsible for managing the Supply and Demand of Lateral Flow Diagnostic Tests for HIV, Malaria, Hepatitis C, Flu, and Covid 19. We support a rapidly expanding Business unit within Abbott, liaising with Manufacturing Units in Japan, Korea, China, and Germany, and serving a Global Customer base across all continents.

The Global Supply Planner is responsible for translating demand plan and inventory strategies into executable supply plans, communicating these to manufacturing sites and third-party manufacturers. Key responsibilities include:

  • Translating demand plan and inventory strategies into executable supply plans and communicating these to manufacturing sites and third-party manufacturers.
  • Ensuring inventory levels at distribution centres are optimized.
  • Partnering with manufacturing sites to resolve/mitigate supply risks and opportunities.
  • Supporting allocation of inventory in low stock situations in conjunction with Commercial organization.
  • Maintaining capacity planning tools and parameters to generate rough-cut capacity plans.
  • Coordinating, facilitating, and driving improvement in Site Supply Review process.
  • Collaborating with R&D, Marketing, and Commercial to manage planning of all new product launches and product transfers to/from other manufacturing sites.
  • Maintaining accuracy of MRP system data.
  • Scenario Planning capability.
  • Chairing the monthly Supply Review meeting with Manufacturing sites and providing Supply Response to the Leadership team.

Requirements for the role include:

  • Minimum 3-5 years Planning experience in a Global Business Environment.
  • Experience of supply chain in medical device industry is an advantage.
  • Primary Degree in Engineering, Business or science is a prerequisite.
  • SAP User experience and Advanced Excel skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills to lead process changes.
  • Ability to travel globally as required.
