Job Description

My client is one of Ireland’s most exciting next-generation property developers, working closely with local authorities to ensure they have an excellent understanding of what’s required at planning stages to maximise the potential of the final development.Due to expansion, we look to hire a Senior Technical Design Manager to join our team permanently.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with the current design and development team, construction and cost planning teams to develop, design and implement the optimum infrastructure and structural solution for each development.Manage design teams to achieve accurate and coordinated design post-planning process to enable accurate procurement by site teams.Lead the product selection process.Contribute to the Value Engineering process with the Construction Operations team to ensure buildable, value-add design solutions are achieved in line with project commercial parameters.Review, interrogate and challenge all designs produced throughout the design and development process to ensure they meet construction team expectations.Streamline and standardise the approach to project development to enable effective and cost-effective delivery at scale.Lead and align all stakeholders, particularly utility providers.Collaborate with internal and external teams to provide materials, products and systems solutions that meet the agreed design brief, cost and quality.Influence and ensure that critical design decisions are fully considered and challenged from concept stage onward.Build trusting relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.Liaise with all necessary functions to progress the project through each project stage.Consider Modern Methods of Construction and design (including BIM) into the pre-planning and subsequent phases to lead in the implementation of innovations in construction.Awareness of cost management, value engineering and project viability.Point of Contact for liaising with Local Authorities on Planning and Building Control related matters.Core Competencies:LeadershipAnalytical – need to be able to review and challenge.Solutions and results focused.Commercially astute with an ability to make value-add contributions through the design development process.Creative mind, interest in innovation and researching evolving consumer trends.Experience in residential spatial interior and exterior design architecture, with a keen eye for coordination.Strong governance and possess a high level of integrity.Excellent communication skills – written, graphical and verbal.Ability to work well within a team environment, making positive and proactive contributions.Flexible and adaptable, demonstrating accountability and taking responsibility.In-depth knowledge and appreciation of the budget and programme parameters underpinning the construction delivery process.Requirements:Familiar with the use of CAD, BIM, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.10+ years experience in a similar role within mid-scale residential projects is an advantage.Have a real passion for the design and delivery of transformative residential-led developments.Excellent relationship management skills (both internal and external) and ability to work within a dynamic team.Strong technical analytical and presentation skills are important.Strong knowledge of the Irish planning, development and construction sector is important.Communication – communicating with focus, simplicity and clarity, adapting to the audience.Planning and organising - developing and implementing processes; prioritising activities that accelerate delivery.Adapting to change – driving and communicating changes.Please note interviews take place immediately.If you are interested in the role, please send your up-to-date CV to Anna@techskills.ie. #J-18808-Ljbffr
