Location: Dublin City Role: Senior Underwriter Senior Underwriter wanted for Global Insurance Group-Dublin City (Office Based) Abrivia are currently recruiting for a Senior Underwriter to join our client, a Global Specialised Insurance Group, reporting into the CUO in Dublin. This role is 5 days a week in the office, and it will give the successful candidate the opportunity to gain experience on a Global Scale working unique and bespoke lines of business. The ideal candidate will have experience of Underwriting a specialised line of business and prior experience in the London Market while not required is a bonus. Full healthcare, Pension, excellent bonus, Well Being Allowance and 25 days annual leave on top of an extremely competitive salary Your Role: Support the pre-underwriting process by reviewing historical performance, policy wordings, and pricing adequacy according to predefined underwriting rules and guidelines. Communicate with the placing broker throughout the underwriting cycle and policy period to ensure all necessary documents are received and manage any credit control issues. Participate in the underwriting process, including daily underwriting calls, assisting in evaluating submissions, analysing, and interpreting exposures, determining coverage and contract language, and prioritising preparations. Collaborate with actuarial teams and utilise risk modelling and pricing tools. Attend and travel to business meetings as required. Build, leverage, and maintain relationships with brokers. Assist in preparing and issuing quotes, binders, and policies accurately and promptly. Expand the existing business portfolio by developing relationships with current clients and prospective clients through visits, entertainment, and conferences as appropriate. Stay updated on market developments and maintain knowledge of the wider insurance market and global economy. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of data entry. Your Skills: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, with progress towards ACII or other relevant commercial insurance industry designations. Minimum of 5 years of experience in the (re)insurance industry in either a broking or underwriting role. Previous experience in the London Insurance Market is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of commercial insurance and regulatory requirements. Excellent organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage workloads effectively while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism. A team player with the flexibility to meet business needs as required. Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with high proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite. Strong interpersonal skills for effective and professional interaction with diverse groups. Must be capable of self-leadership and working effectively both independently and within a team environment.
