Job Description

Senior Warehouse & Transport Operations Supervisor sought for North Dublin site to oversee transport and warehouse operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to schedules.

As the key contact for supervisors and team leads, you will offer guidance on operational matters, managing day-to-day transport and warehouse activities, yard and contractor supervision, and collaborating on resource planning, equipment maintenance, and health and safety compliance.

This role will lead a team of approx 14 staff across the warehouse & transport departments on the evening shift, reporting to the Freight Warehouse Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily operations within the transport department and road freight warehouse (PM shifts), ensuring tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Manage transport administration, including driver debriefs.
  • Oversee the scheduling of domestic vehicles for transport, road freight, and logistics customers.
  • Monitor vehicle usage, trunking performance, and load planning for optimal efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the transport planning team to manage costs while maintaining high service standards.
  • Address and resolve transport-related queries by coordinating with other depots and departments.
  • Ensure daily collection tasks are completed and closed with the planning team.
  • Oversee the loading and unloading of inbound trailers and local delivery vehicles, adhering to manifest and warehouse procedures.
  • Ensure that all inbound and outbound processes are followed accurately by the warehouse team.
  • Oversee the timely loading and departure of export trailers from the Dublin depot, ensuring they meet ferry schedules.
  • Manage the accurate checking, scanning, loading, and manifesting of all outbound vehicles in coordination with the planning and warehouse teams.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience working in transport planning and warehouse operations required.
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with good communication skills.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and be accountable for tasks and actions.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure.
  • Possess a positive outlook, promoting constructive responses to the challenges of work.
  • Must be flexible and open to shift change when necessary.
  • Forklift experience is essential. VNA/Shunter experience would be an advantage.
