Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Water Design Engineer to lead the design of water treatment systems for our global data centers, ensuring safe drinking water and compliance with environmental regulations.
As a key member of the EMEA Energy and Water team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing water treatment systems that meet the highest standards of safety and security.
Your expertise will be essential in developing and maintaining design standards, working with global Mechanical engineering teams, and ensuring compliance with national water law and environmental permitting conditions.
You will work closely with construction, commissioning, and risk management teams to ensure that water systems are designed and implemented correctly, and that discharges are maintained below permit conditions.
You will also be responsible for preparing investment need/business case papers to secure internal funding for water reinforcement projects and building and maintaining the overall delivery program and project budget.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a field related to Chemical/Process and/or Mechanical engineering, with 10+ years of experience in design engineering or the construction industry, related to water quality and chemical treatment.
You will have demonstrated experience applying local water laws and codes, International Code Council (ICC) requirements, and other water treatment industry standards, procedures, and methodologies.
You will also have experience with processes of design review, specification, development of design standards, and submittal review, as well as health and safety requirements and ensuring compliance is met within area of responsibility.
The following are preferred qualifications:
- 15+ years of demonstrated experience as a process design engineer and/or water treatment specialist.
- Technical experience of a range of treatment technologies including water softening, multi-media-filtration, pH correction, membrane-based treatment, disinfection (UV, AOP, Ozone).
- Experience with performance-based alternatives to prescriptive water treatment design.
- Advanced business analytics skills.
