Senior/Principal Highways Drainage Engineer We're seeking an experienced Senior/Principal Highways Drainage Engineer to lead design packages and projects, engage with other disciplines, clients, and site teams, and work collaboratively as part of an expanding and dynamic team.
Our Transport division works with a wide range of clients and partners to develop holistic mobility solutions. From Aviation to Bridges and Tunnels to Rail, we aim to ensure that people and goods can move in the most effective and sustainable way possible.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading highway drainage technical analysis and design in accordance with relevant standards
Working in a team environment with other project engineers to support coordinated and sustainable designs
Checking and reviewing of highway drainage design packages
Applying and promoting policies relating to health and safety, quality, and training
Leading design and implementation of sustainable solutions
Providing guidance, instruction, motivation, and management of staff
We are actively involved in a number of major highway projects, including the A5 Western Transport Corridor and the Active Travel and Urban Development project for NTA. We are also supporting the delivery of exciting Smart Mobility/Active Travel design commissions nationally.

Requirements include:
BEng/MEng (Hons) Degree in Civil Engineering
Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer
Good working knowledge of highways drainage design, DMRB, MCHW, DMURS, TII specifications
Good working experience working on NTA and/or Df I project control phases and requirements
Experienced in the use of industry-standard software, including Micro Drainage used in conjunction with Civil3D
Good knowledge of BIM procedures
Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include having a proven record as a competent designer on a number of projects, with a confident and professional manner, coupled with excellent communication skills when engaging with clients and colleagues alike. Ability to mentor and lead junior staff and build strong relationships with your peers and co-workers is also essential.
