Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Garage/Service Manager to oversee a team of mechanics and ensure the smooth operation of a fleet of vehicles and plant machinery in County Kerry.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of machinery, IT skills, and experience in managing a team of mechanics. They will be responsible for job allocation, parts purchasing, and health and safety control, as well as overseeing the weekly rostering of staff and allocation of duties to mechanics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Job allocation and job flow in the workshop
- Parts purchasing, vehicle repairs, daily walk-around supervision, and health & safety control
- Overseeing the weekly rostering of staff and allocation of duties to mechanics
- Plan and organise Preventive Maintenance System
- Ensure correct job numbers, time records & parts costs are recorded
- Provide oversight and check job estimates
- Ensure that garage, yard and security health & safety procedures are followed at all times
- Maintenance & Scheduling of 12 Month Maintenance Plan for full fleet
- Conduct final check/test driving for all vehicles/trucks prior to release
- Lead a group of 10 mechanics and helpers with Hands-on supervision of all workshop activities
Requirements:
- 4+ years' experience in a similar role
- Full knowledge of MS Office – Excel; Word; Outlook etc
- Full Driving Licence – HGV a bonus
- Flexibility, willing to carry out variety of tasks/ activities requested
A company vehicle, mobile phone and salary which is open to negotiation will be offered.
