Job Description

Position: Service Technician Location: Tipperary/Kilkenny Region Job type: Permanent, Full Time General working hours: Approx 40 hours p/w, Monday – Friday 8.00am – 4-30pm Main Objective: Our Service Technicians are responsible for the servicing, repairing and installation of medical equipment on site including electric beds, pressure care mattresses, hoists, specialised seating, wheelchairs and other mobility equipment. We are one of the largest providers of quality product and services to the non-acute healthcare market. With our growing customer base this is an excellent time to join Homecare Medical as a Service Technician in this busy fast passed environment covering the South East of the country. Key Duties and Responsibilities: * Carry out planned preventative maintenance on a daily basis, including ad hoc repairs and installations of medical equipment in accordance with Company policies and procedures, ensuring all planned preventative maintenance and repairs are responded to within the allocated timeframe, whilst seeking to optimise use of time and minimise costs. * Carry out all relevant checks as per manufactures instructions whilst complying with all Health and Safety and Statutory requirements. * Complete and submit all service reports and documentation within the agreed timescale. * Liaise with the service administrator and the customers, advising schedule of work and appointment times ensuring customers are informed at all times. * Liaise with the customer on planned preventative maintenance and repairs carried out informing them of the work completed including defects found and any parts fitted or required. * Ensure all customers enquiries, requests and complaints are dealt with immediately. * Ensure all tools, test equipment and spare parts are maintained in a safe working condition, reporting any defects to the Service Manager immediately. * Maintain adequate stock of spare parts at all time and carry out cycle counts on van stock to ensure van stock is accurate. * Provide feedback on recommendations, ideas and improvements that may support ongoing improvements to service and products. * Ensure a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene is met at all times and keeping with Company policies. * Perform additional ad hoc tasks as required by the Company. The duties listed are not exhaustive. Knowledge/Skills: Ideally the suitable candidate will have previous medical device industry experience in a similar role and demonstrated the following skills. The ability to deal with clients in a professional friendly manner. The ability to work under pressure. The ability to ensure the work is done in the most efficient way. Must have strong computer skills along with strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role. Electrical/Mechanical experience essential. Previous medical device industry experience preferable. Qualifications: Leaving cert. Engineering Cert/Diploma/Degree or Fas Apprenticeship (Electrical/Mechanical) preferable.
