Job Description
Sheet Metal Worker / Aircraft Structures Technician required to repair and modify aircraft structures and components in a high-quality, safe, and technical environment.
Syntech Recruitment is proud to partner with one of Europe's largest Maintenance Repair Organisations (MRO), specialising in aircraft structure repair and modification. Our client is a key player in the aviation industry, known for delivering high-quality and reliable services across Europe.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete assigned duties in a timely and professional manner to maximise output.
- Ensure all work completed is signed off as required.
- Maintain excellent timekeeping and attendance in line with company procedures.
- Ensure that handovers and system updates are accurate and up to date.
- Assist with corrective actions for audit findings.
- Use personal protective clothing and equipment correctly at all times.
- Ensure all technical documentation used is up to date.
- Verify that all test equipment is within calibration date.
- Keep the work area clean and tidy at all times.
- Assist in the development of new component capabilities.
- Report any technical or airworthiness issues to the Team Leader.
- Be prepared to undertake other duties as reasonably assigned by the company.
Core Competencies:
- Completed a recognised apprenticeship/structures traineeship and passed relevant exams.
- Recent experience in sheet metal and structures-related tasks.
- Competence in the repair and overhaul of sheet metal components.
- Willingness and ability to attain Company Workshop Approvals relevant to the area.
- Good working knowledge of technical matters relevant to workshop activities.
- Ability to interpret and apply maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, instructions, service bulletins, and task cards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Adaptable to change and a team player.
- Interest in further development and training qualifications.
- Basic computer literacy and willingness to implement new systems and procedures.
- Flexible approach to changing priorities and customer demands.
Desirable Competencies:
- Experience with sheet metal equipment such as guillotines, folders, band saws, pillar drills, and riveting techniques.
Essential Criteria:
- Recognised apprenticeship with relevant exams successfully completed.
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
- Ability to pass a security background check.
- Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical.
- Eligible to live and work in the Republic of Ireland without restriction.
