Job Description

We are seeking a high performing SHEQ Officer to join our team in the Greater Dublin area. The SHEQ officer role is to co-ordinate and advise on compliance with statutory, accreditation and organisational requirements, duties and procedures. The role will include carrying out effective inspections , audits and training where this is required. The role further includes the compilation of and retention of documentation as required within the Integrated Management System. The SHEQ department role is a support role for the rest of the business functions and interface role with external stakeholders. The role includes regular travel to organisational sites throughout the Dublin area and at times throughout the whole of ROI as required. Main Duties: The duties of the SHEQ Officer are supported and carried out under direction of the SHEQ Lead. Assisting and supporting the Contracts team: Compilation of Construction Phase Plans and end of contract H&S files as required under current regulations Advise and assist in Project Method statements and risk assessment compilation Carry out site audits across all sites company wide. Assess site set up compliance Advise Contracts team on gaps in compliance and advise on corrective actions including carrying out dip checks of sub-contractor RAM submissions Control the PAT process for on site equipment inspections Control statutory inspection documentation for head office and site, including electrical inspections, gas, fire equipment, lifting equipment Support the organisational HSE meetings Carry out and report on incidents injuries and dangerous occurrences Carry out emergency evacuation drills on site/head office and record Review IMS documents annually for compliance and improvement including but not limited to HSE policy, Quality policy, Registers, Non conformance reports, objectives and processes. Monitor and advise on organisational KPIs and compliance targets Review and advise on new legislation amendments and changes Assess and organise training requirements and update records. Support the Commercial team with advise and guidance on SHEQ and legislative requirements for future projects and tender submission. Evaluate supply chain for approval in line with organisational IMS system and section criteria Support the documentation control within contracts file and Autodesk/IT systems, carry out desk top audits of contract/Autodesk compliance in relation to SHEQ Support in the development and continuous improvement of the organisational IMS system including internal audits The person: Relevant H&S qualification, e.g. NEBOSH. Experience in a busy health and safety function, construction industry experience will be beneficial. Knowledge and understanding of Irish H&S legislation. Experience of working with a QMS will be beneficial. Excellent communicator. Highly organised.
