Job Description

Seeking a dedicated SHEQ Officer to ensure highest standards of safety, health, environmental, and quality practices.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental management, with experience in occupational health and safety, and quality control. Training will be provided to strengthen areas required.

The SHEQ Officer will collaborate with various departments to create a culture of safety, health, environmental responsibility, and quality excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively on SHEQ issues and participate in management meetings.
  • Support communications and relationships with regulatory bodies.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety, health, environmental, and quality policies and procedures.
  • Promote a positive SHEQ culture within the business.
  • Identify potential hazards, risks, and environmental impacts, and recommend control measures.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, environmental assessments, and quality audits.
  • Provide safety, health, environmental, and quality training to employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and quality issues, and develop corrective actions.
  • Monitor workplace conditions to prevent occupational health issues and promote employee well-being.
  • Ensure compliance with local, regional, and national regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address safety, health, environmental, and quality concerns.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans.
  • Prepare and submit reports on safety, health, environmental, and quality performance.
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
  • Promote a culture of safety, health, environmental responsibility, and quality excellence.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor objectives and promote their delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, occupational health and safety, quality management, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, ISO Lead Auditor) are a plus.
  • Proven experience as a SHEQ Officer or in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety, health, environmental, and quality regulations and standards.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify hazards, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
