Seeking a skilled Shift Maintenance Fitter to provide maintenance support, troubleshooting, and repairs for machinery and equipment in a leading manufacturing company based in Cork.
Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking a skilled Shift Maintenance Fitter to join their maintenance team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment and machinery.
- Respond promptly to machinery breakdowns, diagnose issues, and implement effective repairs.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to improve equipment reliability and minimize unplanned downtime.
- Collaborate with production teams to support operational goals and maintain optimal equipment performance.
- Carry out mechanical repairs, adjustments, and installations to ensure equipment operates efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company standards.
- Assist in training operators and junior staff on proper machine operation and basic maintenance.
- Support new equipment installations and provide technical expertise during commissioning.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Trade certification or relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Fitter in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and related equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently during shift operations.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to regulatory standards.
