Seeking a skilled Shift Maintenance Fitter to provide maintenance support, troubleshooting, and repairs for machinery and equipment in a leading manufacturing company based in Cork.

Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking a skilled Shift Maintenance Fitter to join their maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment and machinery.
  • Respond promptly to machinery breakdowns, diagnose issues, and implement effective repairs.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to improve equipment reliability and minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Collaborate with production teams to support operational goals and maintain optimal equipment performance.
  • Carry out mechanical repairs, adjustments, and installations to ensure equipment operates efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company standards.
  • Assist in training operators and junior staff on proper machine operation and basic maintenance.
  • Support new equipment installations and provide technical expertise during commissioning.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Trade certification or relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Fitter in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and related equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently during shift operations.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to regulatory standards.
