About the Role: Our client, a leading manufacturing company based in Cork, is seeking a skilled Shift Maintenance Fitter to join their maintenance team. This role involves providing maintenance support, troubleshooting, and repairs for machinery and equipment during shift operations to ensure smooth production flow. Key Responsibilities: Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment and machinery. Respond promptly to machinery breakdowns, diagnose issues, and implement effective repairs. Conduct preventive maintenance to improve equipment reliability and minimize unplanned downtime. Collaborate with production teams to support operational goals and maintain optimal equipment performance. Carry out mechanical repairs, adjustments, and installations to ensure equipment operates efficiently. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and operational efficiency. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company standards. Assist in training operators and junior staff on proper machine operation and basic maintenance. Support new equipment installations and provide technical expertise during commissioning. Qualifications and Skills: Trade certification or relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Proven experience as a Maintenance Fitter in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and related equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to work independently and efficiently during shift operations. Commitment to safety and adherence to regulatory standards.
