Job Description
Operations Shift Manager required for leading medical device manufacturing company in Waterford City.
Summary: Lead production schedules, direct team members, and ensure quality product delivery in a timely, safe, and efficient manner.
The Operations Shift Manager is responsible for maintaining production schedules and directing the activities of team members in line with operational, quality, and health & safety work instructions, procedures, and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the operations shift team, including Quality Inspectors, Material Handlers, and Injection Moulding Technicians.
- Drive continuous improvement and process reliability using lean tools.
- Create a high-performing team that achieves excellent results.
- Lead shift daily operations meetings to review production data, machines running status, escalations, and corrective action.
- Ensure regular communication with the team through visual management systems and coordinate operator training.
- Responsible for ensuring team members are trained in their roles and support the development of standard work, documentation, and training activities.
- Plan people, material, and machine resources to support weekly production schedules.
- Ensure injection moulding, tool, and assembly changeover activities are completed as scheduled and meet cGMP compliance.
- Lead the area 5S programme to ensure housekeeping, cGMP, and safety issues are resolved in a timely and systematic manner.
- Ensure equipment and area cleaning, preventative maintenance, calibration schedules, inventory control, and barcoding systems are adhered to as per cGMP requirements.
- Implement company policies, adhere to all Corporate EHS and cGMP policies.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with GMP in all practices, recording of events, and processes.
Job Specifications:
- Level 7 or 8 HETAC Science/Engineering qualification in a relevant discipline.
- Level 7 management/relevant supervisory management qualification.
- 3-5 years Injection moulding/Automated assembly experience.
- 5+ years supervisory/leadership experience.
- Qualifications and experience in Lean (Green belt level).
- Experience in medical device injection moulding and assembly operations.
