Job Description

Provide technical guidance on mechanical and controls issues, document issues and fixes, use Lean Six Sigma tools to analyse data and lead actions to improve key business metrics, and co-ordinate maintenance activities on shift.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • 1.**Provide technical guidance to operations/maintenance personnel to ensure they have sufficient knowledge to perform their tasks.
  • 2.Document issues and fixes in technical shift hand-over document to capture mechanical and controls issues and actions.
  • 3.Utilise Lean Six Sigma tools to review and analyse data for uptime, yield and performance and lead actions to improve key business metrics.
  • 4.Attend shift Tier meetings, and lead daily technical actions relating to equipment performance.
  • 5.Liaise with the Manufacturing team to coordinate resources in alignment with priorities.
  • 6.Co-ordinate the execution of planned and unplanned maintenance activities on shift.
  • 7.Fault-finding/troubleshooting of equipment and process issues.
  • 8.Work with Line Engineers to identify and eliminate repetitious machine failures and action key performance detractors.
  • 9.Support NC/CAPA or other Quality investigations as appropriate.
  • 10.Implement improvements under change control.
  • 11.Presentation of technical data to internal/external audit and inspection groups.
  • 12.Ensure Health and Safety Regulations and Procedures are adhered to always for self and others.
  • 13.Develop relevant engineering documentation including work instructions, SOPs, validations & engineering studies.

Requirements:

  • 1.Level 8 Engineering degree desired – Electronic or Mechanical preferred.
  • 2.Relevant experience in Area 9 is desired.
  • 3.Relevant experience in a highly automated, high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • 4.Good problem-solving abilities – able to identify facts, consider alternative approaches and evaluate the most appropriate action.
  • 5.Experience of developing a working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic software controls, and automated vision systems.
  • 6.Experience working in a validated medical device/pharmaceutical environment is preferred.
  • 7.Strong attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
