Job Description
CREGG is currently looking for a Siemens PCS7 Engineer for a client in Cork on a permanent basis, this role will be a mix of office and site visits across Cork. Role: Design and coding of industrial process automation solutions on Siemens PCS7 Distributed Control System (DCS) or Siemens Programmable Logic Controller (PLCs). * Assist with Integrating, diagnosing issues, and maintaining Siemens PCS7 systems. * Production of I/O schedules * Preparation of Functional Design specifications * Design and configuration of user interface systems for industrial control (HMI/SCADA) * Working with a team of digital manufacturing/automation engineers managing and delivering projects to customer sites. * Developing engineering design documents, technical evaluations, and test plans for cGMP process equipment and following GAMP 5 guidelines. * Design of control panels and creation of panel wiring schematics * Commissioning of control systems in the field: I/O and instrumentation testing, full testing and commissioning of automation systems * Fault finding of control systems (DCS/ PLC, HMI/SCADA, Communication Networks) * Providing design and approval for hardware, software, and controls for automated systems. * Working closely with customers to identify improvement areas through automation and data analytics technology. * Providing technical and automation operational support to Engineering, Manufacturing, Validation and Facilities departments. Qualifications/ Skills/ Experience * Bachelors degree in Engineering/ Computer Science / Information Systems or related field. * 3 or more years of automation engineering experience. * Proficiency in DCS programming with Siemens PCS7 would be a distinct advantage. * DCS Programming Experience: Siemens PCS7 * PLC Programming Experience: Siemens/ Allen-Bradley/ Schneider. * HMI / SCADA Experience: Siemens / Rockwell/ AVEVA / Schneider. * Knowledge of process instrumentation and wiring. * Experience with control networks and communications systems (Profibus, Modbus, DeviceNet).
