Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to oversee the construction of 110 new apartments and the refurbishment of historic Georgian houses into modern apartments in Dublin. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in site engineering, with a strong background in both new builds and heritage refurbishment. This role requires a hands-on approach, with a focus on quality, safety, and project delivery. Key Responsibilities Project Oversight: Supervise and manage the daily operations on-site, ensuring all work is carried out according to project plans, specifications, and timelines. Oversee the construction of 110 new apartments, ensuring all works meet structural and design requirements. Manage the refurbishment of Georgian houses, ensuring the preservation of historical features while modernizing the interiors. Technical Duties: Conduct site surveys, leveling, and setting out tasks to ensure precise construction. Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve technical challenges and ensure project goals are met. Ensure compliance with Irish building regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental guidelines throughout the project. Quality Control: Monitor the quality of materials and workmanship, ensuring they meet the project's high standards. Perform regular site inspections and quality audits to identify and rectify issues promptly. Maintain a strong focus on delivering a high-quality finish in both new build and refurbishment elements of the project. Team Coordination: Work closely with the Project Manager, subcontractors, and other site engineers to ensure effective communication and coordination across the project. Provide leadership, guidance, and support to junior engineers and site workers. Participate in site meetings, provide detailed progress updates, and communicate any issues or delays to the Project Manager. Documentation & Reporting: Keep accurate records of site activities, including daily logs, progress reports, and site diaries. Assist in the preparation of risk assessments, method statements, and other necessary documentation. Ensure all technical documentation is maintained and updated in line with project requirements. Qualifications and Experience Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Membership with a professional body (e.g., Engineers Ireland) is advantageous. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Site Engineer, with proven experience in managing residential projects, including new builds and heritage refurbishments. Strong experience in managing projects in urban settings, particularly in Dublin, is highly desirable. Technical Skills: Proficient in construction software and tools, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Total Station. In-depth knowledge of Irish building regulations, health and safety standards, and construction best practices. Experience with the technical aspects of both new construction and historic building refurbishment. Soft Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse team. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
