Job Description
A Civil Engineer is needed to join our civil team in Co Cork. Your mission is to set out works, ensure information is clearly understood, disseminate information, test materials, record activities, and report progress. You will work safely, develop professional relationships, and monitor equipment. A third-level qualification in Engineering and 2 years' experience in setting out are required. Good communication skills, knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental regulations, and experience working with a main contractor are also necessary. Key Responsibilities:
- Set out works and ensure information is clearly understood
- Disseminate information to foremen, operatives, subcontractors, and other personnel
- Test materials as directed by your supervisor
- Record all daily activities, relevant information, and occurrences in your site diary
- Report on work progress, including that of subcontractors, to your manager
- Work safely and correct those who do not
- Develop and maintain professional working relationships with all personnel
- Monitor and check setting out instruments and testing equipment
Requirements:
- Third-level qualification in Engineering
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in setting out on general civils projects with rail experience preferable
- Experience working with a main contractor
- Good understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental regulations
- Excellent communication skills
