Job Description

The Client and overview of the Role: My Client are a Galway-based Main Contractor with an annual turnover in the region of €50m. They have numerous live projects in the Connaught region which means that they can offer continuity of work in the area. They are involved projects for; industrial, educational, health care, sports, commercial and residential buildings. Due to growth, we are looking for a Site Engineer to work alongside a Senior Engineer for a project based in Roscommon. The expected P-C is 24 months away and the plan is for this person to work on this project until handover. You'll be working within an established team, working closely with an approachable and experienced Senior Engineer. Since this company don't recruit new staff regularly, the main thing that we're looking for is "culture fit". The role responsibilities will vary, depending on experince but below is a rough idea of what the main responsibilities will include: Working closely with on-site and off-site management teams to set-out the project. Check plans and drawings to ensure all calculations are accurate. Check shuttering, steel and other dimensions prior to concrete pours. Liaise with subcontractors, clients and internal teams to ensure that program targets are met/exceeded where possible Produce As-Built drawings and manage technical submittals for utilities, local authorities etc. Come up with solutions to problems, where necessary. Oversee quality control and health and safety on site. Maintain materials reconciliation files. Requirements: Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering or related discipline. Ideally 1+ years experience as a Site Engineer/Senior Site Engineer with a Main Contractor or Residential Developer. Experience using setting out equipment - Eg. total station, GPS and laser levels. Knowledge of temporary works coordination. Strong attention to detail and able to work on own initiative. What's on offer? A starting salary of at least €45,000 DOE Subject to experience, a vehicle + fuel card/Allowance can be provided straight away.
