Site Engineer - Main Contractor Location: Dungarvan & Youghal Sector: Residential Our client is a distinguished construction company with deep roots in the Southeast of Ireland. They are known for delivering high-quality construction projects, particularly in the residential sector. With a strong presence in Munster and Leinster, the company has established a reputation for excellence, collaborating effectively with clients, design teams, and suppliers. Optimize Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Site Engineer with over 4 years of experience to join our clients team for residential construction sites in both Dungarvan and Youghal. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a large-scale project with a well-established main contractor. The role will involve elements of Setting Out, but will also focusing on Site and Project Management. Both sites have approximately 30 units (houses) and the project is expected to last 18 months, with further work in the Waterford area thereafter. Salary: €50,000 - €65,000 D.O.E. Benefits: Further discussed at interview stage. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: A third-level qualification in Engineering or Construction Management. A minimum of 4 years of experience working with a main contractor, preferably on residential projects. Proven expertise in setting out and site engineering. A solid understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations in the construction industry. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with project stakeholders. Proficiency in using setting out equipment, including GPS and robotic instruments. Competency in Microsoft Office, Project, and other relevant software tools. Key Responsibilities: Accurately set out works on-site and ensure all foremen and operatives fully understand the requirements. Interpret project drawings and specifications, ensuring clear and effective communication with all relevant parties. Conduct material testing and ensure all site works comply with specified requirements. Maintain a detailed site diary, documenting daily activities, issues, and progress. Monitor and report on work progress, including subcontractor performance, to the project manager. Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on-site. Foster and maintain strong professional relationships with project personnel, ensuring smooth project execution. Actively pursue opportunities for personal development and professional training.
