Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer for our client, a leading construction company specialising in residential projects, committed to delivering high-quality homes. You will play a key role in carrying out most site Engineering activities – setting out, setting levels, supervising all groundworks. The role will also include the supervision of direct employees and subcontractors, materials management, quality management, surveying, health & safety management, and general administration and document control. RESPONSIBILITIES Technical Support: Managing and carrying out setting out activities for Duplexes and Houses & associated roads and services. This will include the accurate setting out of foundations, columns, beams & walls and the on- going supervision of block layers, steel-fixers, shuttering carpenters and concrete pours. It will include taking and setting accurate levels for drainage crews and groundworkers, and carrying out topographical and other surveys. Administrative Support: Taking levels, surveying works & keeping records of on-going works carried out by subcontractors. Materials Management Liaising with Site Manager and Purchasing Manager (at head office) to ensure correct specification, quality and quantity of materials are on site as and when required, supervising the issue of materials to ensure wastage is kept to an absolute minimum. Irish Water: Liaising with Irish Water Field Engineers and meeting on site. Be fully familiar with the requirements of the IW QA requirements and take overall responsibility for the IW QA folder and record all information as required, including producing as-built drawings, in regard to both drinking water, and foul water installations. Kildare County Council & Surface Water: Similarly liaise with KCC Engineers to arrange routine inspections, testing and recording of all aspects of QA regarding the Surface Water installation and other Civils works items. Supervision: Assist Site Management in monitoring and management of site operatives, both direct and subcontractors. Quality and Building Control: Manage and co-ordinate quality and building control plans at various stages. Health & Safety: Assist in induction of site operatives, assist in carrying out H&S audits, monitor and manage adherence to PPE requirements and health & safety obligations. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Proven experience as an Intermediate or Senior Site Engineer in residential construction projects. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations. Proficient in the use of construction management software and AutoCAD. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Knowledge of health and safety regulations in construction. Does it sound like you?
