Job Description

We are seeking a Site Manager for our client, a main building contractor. You will play a key role in managing a refurbishment and extension of an existing red brick building from last century. This is a space confirmed site and working to tight programme schedules. The role would suit a detail driven, ambitious and hard-working individual! RESPONSIBILITIES Take charge of the overall Site management and supervision of city site, including neighbours, facilities, infrastructure, and services. Coordinate progress on site with the Contracts Manager, Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor with regards to contractors and vendors, to address their needs, resolve issues, and maintain positive relationships Facilitating the flow of information between the Design Team and Construction Team; keeping all relevant parties informed on all relevant aspects of technical and engineering issues that arise on the project details issued or from situations as they arise on site. Delivery of the job within specification whilst maintaining high safety, environmental and quality standards. Comply with project operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and quality, regulations, and safety protocols and BCAR inspection Oversee main contractors’ staff and service providers, ensuring their performance, training and adherence to quality standard Conduct regular inspections and assessments of the site to identify step ahead of a step requirement, safety hazards, and opportunities for improvement Manage on site activity to ensure just in time delivery with procurement schedules as scheduled, ensuring effectiveness and value for money Coordinate fortnightly look ahead and white board meeting daily on time Management of H&S procedures to the highest standard of compliance QUALIFICATIONS A degree or diploma in Construction Management or Trade Qualification is essential. Proven experience as a Site Manager or in a similar role, preferably in Public Works Contract SKILLS In-depth knowledge of building regulations and H&S legislation. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage both employees and subcontractors. Problem-solving mindset with the ability to think critically. Proficiency in using computer software and systems relevant to site management and reporting. Self-motivated and proactive in a dynamic project environment. Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and manage workload.
