Environments Data Services is a distributed team that focuses on providing 24/7 operational support for our customer environments, as well as up taking new technologies and services and ensuring successful deployment to these live environments. We are looking for a MySQL Administrator to help us develop, design, and improve our database solutions. Specifically, you will: Provide support for large scale MySQL instances across production and development environments Serve in an on-call rotation as a customer concern contact for critical production issues Focus on automation to improve availability and scalability in our production environments Help architect existing and new services in our production environment About You Basic Qualifications: Strong hands-on experience as a database engineer/architect using different flavors of databases such as MySQL, NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra, Riak, Redis etc). Experience running clustered, highly-available database services deployed on different flavors of Linux. Strong scripting experience in multiple languages such as shell, python, ruby etc. Other qualifications: Should be considered an "authority" in the field of databases. Strong experience with automation and configuration management tools like Puppet, Chef or Ansible. Good working knowledge of Github, JIRA confluence. Proven experience in Linux, Kubernetes, Dockers, Containers. Excellent communication skills - Formal presentations, whiteboarding. Hands-on experience supporting mission-critical production workloads on MySQL or other open-source databases. Experience with database architecture, design, replication, clustering, HA/DR. Strong collaboration, analytical, verbal and written communication skills. BS in Computer Science or related fields with 5+ years of experience (or) MS in Computer Science with 3+ years of experience. Familiarity with tools such as Ceph Storage, Gluster, Orchestrator for MySQL, Percona MHA, Percona Galera, Vitess, Pure Storage.
