Job Description
Seeking a highly skilled SME Pricing Lead to support the delivery of the Zurich GI Business Lines SME Pricing strategy.
As an SME Pricing Lead, you will be responsible for performing actuarial analysis to provide highly accurate data, insights, and rate recommendations for use by Pricing and Underwriting Management. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining pricing models, rating tools, and programs for model-building and actuarial analysis;
- Interpreting results of models and analysis and communicating results to stakeholders;
- Compiling and categorizing complex data and verifying factors and assumptions used in computations;
- Developing/improving MI and reporting capabilities;
- Participating in the evaluation and review of new proposed processes, systems, and models for use in the pricing of SME business;
- Assisting in the management and delivery of pricing projects;
- Demonstrating knowledge of relevant actuarial disciplines, procedures, professional standards, and industry trends/developments;
- Providing support to the Pricing Manager, Pricing Team colleagues, and wider company in delivering on strategic objectives;
- Supporting the automation of critical pricing processes to improve efficiency and operational excellence;
- Working with actuarial colleagues to continue to develop an understanding of company operations, business objectives and actuarial methodologies;
- Assisting in training less experienced actuarial personnel and overseeing their work;
- Demonstrating consistent progress towards actuarial qualification;
- Compliance with Zurich Group & Local policies, procedures, and best practices.
As an SME Pricing Lead, you will have:
- A part-qualified actuary, with a degree in a relevant field (e.g. Actuarial Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics);
- Consideration will be given to candidates with an analytics & quantitative background not pursuing actuarial qualification, subject to relevant experience and competencies;
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in the General Insurance industry, preferably within Pricing;
- Strong analytical skills, with knowledge of relevant software and programming languages (e.g. Excel, SAS, EMBlem, R, VBA);
- Flexible team player with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders;
- Highly motivated, demonstrating initiative and ability to work independently;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical subject matter to a wide range of stakeholders;
- Integrity, working at all times lawfully and in accordance with pre-defined regulatory, compliance and financial requirements.
