Camphill Communities of Ireland seeks a Social Care Assistant to join our team, providing person-centred support to individuals with intellectual disabilities in a residential setting.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing person-centred support to individuals with intellectual disabilities, promoting their autonomy and independence.
- Developing and implementing individualised care plans, in partnership with the individual and their family.
- Supporting individuals with daily living tasks, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household management.
- Encouraging and facilitating social integration and community participation.
- Assisting with behaviour support plans and providing emotional support to individuals.
- Participating in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Contributing to a positive and respectful team culture, promoting a safe and supportive living environment.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of a QQI Level 5 Major Award in Social Care Studies or equivalent qualification.
- 1 year's experience working with vulnerable adults or adults with intellectual disabilities.
- An understanding of current policy and developments in social care.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- A full driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
