Job Description

Camphill Communities of Ireland seeks a Social Care Assistant to join our team, providing person-centred support to individuals with intellectual disabilities in a residential setting.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing person-centred support to individuals with intellectual disabilities, promoting their autonomy and independence.
  • Developing and implementing individualised care plans, in partnership with the individual and their family.
  • Supporting individuals with daily living tasks, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household management.
  • Encouraging and facilitating social integration and community participation.
  • Assisting with behaviour support plans and providing emotional support to individuals.
  • Participating in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Contributing to a positive and respectful team culture, promoting a safe and supportive living environment.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of a QQI Level 5 Major Award in Social Care Studies or equivalent qualification.
  • 1 year's experience working with vulnerable adults or adults with intellectual disabilities.
  • An understanding of current policy and developments in social care.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • A full driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
