We are the Romanian branch of Waterford.org, a recognized leader in the educational software market. We are a team of more than 45 software professionals, developing our own products – web-based programs, helping children to learn English, Math and Science in a fun and adaptive manner. Waterford.org is an education nonprofit with a mission to achieve universal literacy for children through equity, access, and parent empowerment. Waterford creates programs that empower parents and caregivers as a child's first teacher at home and supports teachers in the classroom. Currently, Waterford.org serves over 300,000 children across 43 states every year.
We are looking for a Backend Software Developer to join our growing engineering team and help build our next generation platform for educational services. The ideal candidate is a passionate developer that likes working with the latest technologies and enjoys keeping up to date with technology advances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in all phases of the development lifecycle
- Work as part of a team, communicate effectively with team members, and contribute to project planning and review meetings
- Translate requirements into clean and efficient code
- Participate in optimization processes to ensure the services run efficiently across different devices and platforms
- Support the maintenance of functionalities post-release, including troubleshooting and implementing updates
Qualification:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Software Developer
- Experience working with database systems, both SQL and No SQL
- Ability to meet deadlines and work independently
- Strong self-motivation
- Excellent work ethic, dependable and responsible
