**Software Development Engineer, Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2)** **Job Summary:** As a Software Development Engineer on the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) team, you will design, develop, and deliver major improvements and features that meet critical business needs, and support our systems operationally. **About the Job:** * You will work with a team of highly skilled software development engineers to design, develop, and deliver software solutions that meet the needs of Amazon's customers. * You will be responsible for designing and architecting new and existing systems, and for programming with at least one software programming language. * You will work on complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers, and will be responsible for ensuring that our systems are highly maintainable and available. * You will be a subject matter expert on the technology operated by the team, and will be responsible for providing feedback to your peers on their code reviews. **About the Team:** * The team provides compute capacity for the internal services that power AWS. * The team provides EC2 instances running Amazon Linux. * To provide these compute capacities, the team operates provisioning software stacks including websites and APIs to acquire/release capacity. **Responsibilities:** * Design and develop software solutions that meet the needs of Amazon's customers. * Architect and design new and existing systems. * Program with at least one software programming language. * Work on complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers. * Ensure that our systems are highly maintainable and available. * Provide feedback to your peers on their code reviews. * Be a subject matter expert on the technology operated by the team. **Requirements:** * Experience in professional software development. * Experience designing or architecting new and existing systems. * Experience programming with at least one software programming language. * Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent. * Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers. **What We Offer:** * Competitive salary and benefits package. * Opportunities for career growth and professional development. * Collaborative and dynamic work environment. * Recognition and rewards for outstanding performance. * Opportunities to work on high-impact projects and contribute to the success of Amazon.
