We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer to build software that creates plans to scale one of the world's largest and most complex networks, and bring them to completion without human intervention. Millions of customers rely on Amazon's network for their success.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.

You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Be part of a high-bar, agile team with global responsibility for the network capacity management software used across all of Amazon;
  • Analyze complex and conflicting requirements, elaborating processes and designing the software to back them up;
  • Lead the team through continuous improvement pushing for the highest quality standards and practices;
  • Operate the systems you build guaranteeing availability and efficiency;
  • Participate in the community of AWS engineers to drive innovation, by bringing original ideas and approaches;
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in professional software development;
  • Experience designing or architecting new and existing systems;
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language;
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent;
  • Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations;
  • Experience with agile development practices;
