Summary: Experienced software development engineer needed for EBS data plane group, with focus on durability and storage, to develop and maintain core EBS logic and contribute to strategic projects. We're seeking an experienced software development engineer to join the EBS data plane group, where you'll focus on developing and maintaining core EBS logic, with a strong emphasis on durability and storage. As a key member of the team, you'll collaborate with other engineers to design and implement solutions that meet the needs of our customers. The EBS team delivers high-performing virtualized storage "in the cloud" for Amazon Web Services, and as such, your work will have a significant impact on the success of our customers. **Key Responsibilities** * Analyze customer needs and design solutions to meet those needs * Implement and test solutions in various programming languages * Define metrics and monitoring procedures to provide visibility into software behavior * Document software solutions and operational procedures * Collaborate with other teams in AWS to build a secure, performant, and reliable system **A Day in the Life** * Collaborate with industry-leading engineers to solve complex problems at scale * Work with multiple teams in AWS to build a secure, performant, and reliable system * Develop and maintain software components that enable EBS storage and high durability **About the Team** * The EBS team delivers high-performing virtualized storage "in the cloud" for Amazon Web Services * Our team's software sits at the heart of all our customers' disk I/O * Being at the heart of much of what AWS does presents numerous opportunities for growth along any engineering vector **Basic Qualifications** * 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience * 3+ years of programming using a modern programming language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design * 3+ years of experience using C/C++
