You will draw from a breadth and depth of technical expertise to mentor engineers, complete hands-on technical work, and provide leadership on complex technical issues. • Actively participate in hiring talented people and assisting in the career development of people within and outside your team.
  • Play a critical role in the broader business planning, working closely with senior executives to develop business targets and resource requirements.
  • Define long-term technical and business strategy and goals.
  • Understand business context to decisions made within and across groups.

  • Have the opportunity to lead and participate in the solution of problems not yet solved by the industry.

Requirements

  • Master's degree.
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations.
  • Experience delivering products against plan in a fast-paced, multi-disciplined, distributed-responsibility and often ambiguous environment.
  • Experience in engineering team management.
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers.
  • Experience managing a team of high calibre Software Engineers developing complex, world class, scalable software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
  • Experience with the scrum methodology.
  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in cloud technologies, particularly AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS, and a deep understanding of cloud architecture and best practices.
  • A track record of driving innovation within a team or organisation, including the ability to inspire creativity, champion new ideas, and implement cutting-edge technologies and methodologies.
