**Software Development Manager for Network Services**
We are seeking a seasoned software development manager to lead a team of engineers in building foundational network services for our Software Defined Networking (SDN) ecosystem.
The team will design and own a closed-loop system for the reservation of network entities associated with procurement activities, bridging network engineering and software engineering disciplines to solve real-world problems.
As a manager, you will lead a team of highly motivated software developers who thrive on solving challenging problems with innovative solutions, using Java, Python, and other languages, as well as open-source technologies like Apache, Celery, and Redis.
You will collaborate with a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers to deliver high standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Lead a team of software developers in designing and developing multi-tier web services.
- Partner with product and program management teams to define and develop software products.
- Design and architect new and existing systems, ensuring reliability, scalability, and fault tolerance.
- Communicate with users, technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements and describe software product features and technical designs.
- Recruit, hire, mentor, and manage teams of software engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective.
**Requirements:**
- Master's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of major routing protocols, topology design, network hardware, and device configuration.
- Experience in engineering team management, leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services, and designing or architecting new and existing systems.
