Software Engineer III, Backend
Rent the Runway is a fashion technology company that's disrupting the trillion-dollar fashion industry. Our mission is to empower women to feel their best every day through our shared designer closet, the Closet in the Cloud.
We're looking for a talented Software Engineer III to join our Commerce Services Engineering Team. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and deploying services that power our e-commerce and order management functionality.
About the Role:
- Improve the architecture, functionality, quality, and continuous delivery of our commerce services and subsystems.
- Build robust services that uphold the financial integrity of our commerce data.
- Participate in all aspects of agile software development, including design, implementation, and deployment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement services that enable rapid growth in traffic and order volumes.
- Develop clear domain models of orders, invoices, and payments.
- Ensure financial data is clean, complete, accurate, and delivered to downstream systems.
- Build intuitive and well-tested APIs for manipulating orders post-checkout.
About You:
- 3+ years of programming experience with a degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field.
- Professional experience with OOP concepts and design patterns using Java/Kotlin, SQL, with Hibernate or other JPA vendor framework.
- Able to learn new tools and technologies quickly.
- Experience working as part of a cross-functional development team.
