Job Description

The Software Sales Executive will be responsible for proactive outbound prospecting and lead activity management, with the goal of qualifying prospects from lead status into the sales pipeline. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and have experience working in a field sales role talking to key decision makers to uncover and execute sales opportunities in various sectors, e.g. food, engineering, agriculture, construction. This person will be assigned to a territory and a specific set of products and will be expected to create opportunities to bring through the entire sales process.

The Software Sales Executive will be expected to learn and understand the overall business objectives of the Herbst Software sales organisation and articulate the Herbst Software value proposition to the customer.

Specific Responsibilities and Functions

  • Promote and sell Business Management Software within a field-based B2B environment.
  • Drive growth and development plans within an assigned territory.
  • Adopt a consultative sales approach to offer prospective customers the most appropriate solution.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Inside Sales to determine necessary strategic sales approaches.
  • Set up and deliver demonstrations both online and at the customer site.
  • Make outbound follow-up calls and convert them into sales.
  • Attend and participate in outside events, e.g. exhibitions, workshops, on occasions.

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

  • 2+ years experience in a dynamic sales environment.
  • Outgoing and highly-personable with superb written and oral communication and persuasion skills.
  • Comfortable reaching out via phone, email and in person to target ("cold") prospects and conducting high-level business and technology discussions with them.
  • Experience with, or demonstrated capacity to quickly learn, technology tools (e.g. CRM and Social Media) that are mission-critical to lead generation activity.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with Marketing, Sales and other teams within the company.
  • An understanding of ERP and Business Management Solutions is a bonus.
  • A full clean driver's licence is essential.

From €40,000 per year with annual review

  • Dublin: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
  • Own car with mileage expenses earned for business mileage
