Overview

The company is looking for established professionals with experience in solution architecture, who are seeking stability and open to new ideas. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of technical solutions and be able to work at any technical level to solve problems.

Role

The Solutions Architect is the technical glue that holds the project together. They provide technical goals, vision, and design for each solution, working directly with the business from project inception to support handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the business to define, design, and estimate solutions
  • Design, document, and present application architecture
  • Maintain both incremental and master design documentation
  • Guide development teams and conduct code and design reviews
  • Work with Dev Ops to oversee unit testing and build reporting
  • Enforce technical standards for design, code, and unit testing

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Define architecture patterns, frameworks, and standards
  • Participate in demand management activities and architecture boards
  • Perform proof of concept work on new technologies
  • Identify refactoring and consolidation opportunities

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of practical experience in enterprise/solution architecture and 5+ years of direct business interaction in designing technical solutions. They will also have knowledge of non-mainstream languages, scripting languages, configuration management tools, and continuous integration principles.

Desirable Skills

  • TOGAF certification
  • Knowledge of analytics and big data
  • Knowledge of columnar/no SQL databases
  • Certification or actual work experience in an agile methodology environment
  • Experience in giving technical direction to and monitoring the work of a remote development team
