Senior Solutions Architect Payments (Banking) Experience Level: Senior 15+ years in IT Architecture and Payments within Banking We are seeking a Senior Solutions Architect with in-depth expertise in payment solutions. As a trusted leader in financial services, our client is committed to driving the next generation of payment systems and banking services to ensure secure, seamless, and efficient transactions for our customers. Role Overview As a Solutions Architect specialising in payments, you will play a key role in shaping our client's payment infrastructure and advancing strategic projects that impact millions of customers. With at least 15 years in IT architecture and proven experience in SWIFT, SEPA, and Faster Payments, you will collaborate across product, engineering, and compliance teams to develop cutting-edge solutions that align with regulatory requirements and emerging trends in real-time payments. Key Responsibilities Develop and lead the payment architecture roadmap, aligning it with our digital transformation strategy and payment innovation goals. Oversee the end-to-end design of scalable payment solutions, including SEPA, SWIFT, and Faster Payments integrations, ensuring robustness and compliance. Partner with stakeholders across Product, Compliance, Engineering, and Operations to define requirements and identify the best technical approaches. Guide the team in adopting best practices for architecture, security, and governance in high-volume payment processing. Stay updated on industry developments, including ISO 20022, open banking, and real-time payments, and implement relevant advances to future-proof our architecture. Required Experience 15+ years of experience in IT architecture, with a strong focus on payment systems within the banking sector. Expertise in SEPA, SWIFT, Faster Payments, and other real-time payment technologies. Demonstrated experience leading architecture projects from concept through execution, ideally within a high-regulation environment. Proficiency in cloud technologies, microservices architecture, and API design. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of emerging payment standards like ISO 20022 and open banking regulations. Background in cloud-native solutions (AWS, Azure) and experience in CI/CD pipelines. Strong communication skills, with a talent for translating complex technical requirements for non-technical stakeholders.
