Sous Chef
Restaurant Name: Johnny Jugnu Limited T/A Cafe Velo
Location: 3 Georges Quay, Cork, Ireland, T12 KD37
We offer:

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all operational aspects of the Kitchen and staff in the absence of the Head Chef.
- Maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment and ensure all HACCP requirements are met.
- Manage the purchasing and storage of food.
- Minimize stock usage, wastage, loss, and breakages in the kitchen, and record accordingly.
- Ensure all relevant records are complete and accurate.
- Complete cleaning and maintenance of restaurant machinery and equipment in line with the Kitchen Cleaning Schedule and Kitchen Period Checklists.
- Support kitchen operations effectively.
- Lead by example in excellent food production.
- Assist the kitchen operations along with other team members.
- Mentor skilled and ambitious culinary staff.
- Support the Head Chef in their duties and occasionally deputize in their role.
- Plan menus.
- Design staff shift schedules.
- Manage workflow in the kitchen and liaise with wait staff to ensure customers receive orders promptly and correctly.
- Participate in the hiring process for new chefs.
Key Requirements:
- 4-5 years' experience in a busy kitchen operation.
- Experience in managing personnel, inventory management, and HACCP.
- Desire to provide a consistently high standard of customer service.
- Strong teamwork abilities.
- Problem-solving abilities and a high level of administrative knowledge.
- Ability to communicate in English.
