If you are a Staff Grade OR Senior Speech and Language Therapist passionate about working with children who have complex disabilities, both physical and intellectual, I would like to hear from you. Medforce are seeking a Staff Grade OR Senior Speech and Language Therapist to join a friendly, dynamic, supportive Children Disability Network Team in North Louth. Contract: Initially 6 months (with a view to extend), Monday - Friday, 35 hour working week plus, incremental pay scale, generous annual leave entitlement and paid bank holidays. This role offers the Speech and Language Therapist an exciting opportunity to work with children and young people with a variety of disabilities, providing vital support to help them achieve their communication potential and enhance their quality of life. The children will have acquired communication disorders, and/or speech and/or language disorders, and/or eating, drinking and swallowing disorders. Key Responsibilities: Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech, language, and communication difficulties in children with disabilities. Provide accurate diagnoses and develop individualized treatment plans. Therapeutic Intervention: Deliver evidence-based speech and language therapy interventions tailored to the needs of each child, focusing on improving communication skills, feeding, and swallowing, where applicable. Family Involvement: Work closely with families, providing training, support, and strategies to help them support their childs communication development in everyday settings. Collaboration: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including occupational therapists, psychologists, physiotherapists, and social workers, to ensure a holistic approach to care and support for each child. Documentation: Maintain thorough and accurate records of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, adhering to professional and organizational standards. Program Development: Contribute to the design and implementation of innovative programs and services that meet the evolving needs of children with disabilities within the network. Continuous Professional Development: Engage in ongoing learning and professional development to stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in speech and language therapy Requirements: BSc in Speech and Language Therapy or an equivalent CORU registered Speech and Language Therapy qualification. CORU Registration is essential. For Senior post (minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience is required) Must have proven experience working with children. Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team. Excellent communication skills and ability to interact well with children and young people. Have enthusiasm, imagination and initiative.
