AWS Networking Organization Seeks Experienced Network Development Engineers
Summary: Design and architect complex networks that scale infinitely, handle high-traffic volumes, and ensure global connectivity for Amazon's data centers and services.
The AWS Networking organization is hiring highly skilled Network Development Engineers (NDE) to join the team. As a member of our network engineering teams, you will play a key role in designing and architecting networks that meet the demands of Amazon's global infrastructure.
Our teams support all aspects of connectivity to and from Amazon and the outside world, as well as the connectivity between Amazon's data centers and services. You will work on designing and implementing Traffic Engineering solutions, architecting hardware platforms and network designs, and defining routing policy.
The primary responsibility of our Network Development Engineers is to design ahead of customer or technology needs, predicting and solving for problems that have not yet occurred. This involves creating and defending High Level Design (HLD) documents, working with vendors or internal stakeholders to influence technology roadmaps, and providing support to teams that will deploy and operate these designs.
Candidates should have:
- At least 5 years of experience with major internet routing protocols, including BGP, OSPF, MPLS, RSVP, and ISIS
- Extensive knowledge of network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills
- Experience managing large projects to completion, either as project manager or lead
- Strong Unix/Linux skills and the ability to script in Python, Perl, shell, C, or C++
- Expert-level certifications, such as CCIE or JNCIE, are a plus
