Summary: We're seeking Senior Software Development Engineers to design and operate networks that support the world's largest cloud provider.
The AWS Networking organization is hiring motivated, best-in-class Software Development Engineers to join our Core Network Engineering team. We're confronting and solving complex and high-stakes challenges. Our teams support all aspects of connectivity between Amazon's data centers and services. As a member of our team, you will play a part in designing and operating networks that simply cannot fail, must scale infinitely, and can never constrain growth or innovation.
We're seeking Senior Software Development Engineers to join a hybrid team with Network, System and Software Development Engineers working in tandem to build controller-based routing solutions to support the rapidly expanding Core Networks. This is an opportunity to join a team where you can heavily influence the strategic and day-to-day decisions that shape how the team and our products mature.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop scalable and operable software and system designs that allow us to automatically deploy, configure and operate our in-house built route server solution.
- Participate in the full project lifecycle, from idealization and scoping to implementation and deployment to ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
- Work closely with peer and dependency teams within Networking to deliver the right solutions for our customers.
- Collaborate and influence to determine what's most important and contribute materially to each team's roadmap.
Requirements
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
- Experience leading the architecture and design of new and current systems.
- Experience in professional, non-internship software development.
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design.
- Experience in development in the last 3 years.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
